This is such an honest, sad, yet heart-healing piece. I recently watched Coco for the first time and was so moved to learn about The Day of the Dead and what it means to celebrate, as much as mourn, those whom we have loved and lost. The dead are with us, loving us. We don’t need obscure metaphysical explanations about the eternity of matter, nor do we need visions of heaven to sustain us with hope. We just need to continue to love and remember those who will always be precious to us, in life and in death. It is so good that you have found a way to honor and remember your dear daughter in a way that brings out her beauty and spirit, surrounded by golden flowers and the light of candles.
