This is such a refreshing article to read, Jay. A perfect blend of honesty and humor. I usually do try for a hat trick as you recommend. I will be more conscious of it now.

Yes, Jay, we are a family here on Medium, and I don’t think it’s disingenuous to state that right up front. Thank you so much for including me in your hat tricks, whenever you have the time or inclination to do so. As far as the 30 second reading requirement, alas that is often hard for me to meet in my writing because I often write poetry that is not more than 12 lines or so. So unless my readers read my poems
VERY slowly, or better yet, read them through twice, it takes at least several reads from various readers before I earn more than a few pennies or two. But that’s ok because what I really do love is when a reader writes a few lines to me saying how they really enjoyed my poem. That feels so good, every time🌹
