r. B…e likely to cause it to snap. You haven’t developed the will to make sacrifices for each other yet. You can still picture what your lives would look like without each other. But if you consider each other chosen family and want to be in each other’s lives for the long haul, then your friendship is probably big enough to stretch for.

I really enjoyed this article. There is too little written about friendship and its specific challenges, which in some ways are different than other close relationships with family or lovers. We give lip service to the value of friendship, but too often we consider keeping our friendships close and vibrant to be of secondary importance in our lives.
