I loved your article! As a retired librarian, my first reaction was to cringe. Too often, people tend to assume that libraries are mere relics, unnecessary and mostly unused. I am so glad you did a little first hand investigation and discovered for yourself how vibrant , welcoming, and busy today’s libraries are. And what libraries do the very best, even more than all the expensive technology and the shelves filled with every kind of book for all kinds of people ( as well as offering so many online books and services for free) is that they are a PEOPLE PLACE . A welcoming place for EVERYONE . No more stern , shushing librarians. They are a thing of the past. If you ever meet one, let me know. I will give him or her a much needed tongue lashing g! 😉 😊
