Blessings Don’t Always Announce Themselves

With couriers and angel wings

Blessings don’t always announce themselves
with couriers and angel wings.

Most blessings are unassuming,
bells too shy to ring.

Perhaps my day seems drained of hope,
a desert devoid of life.

Yet something continues to guide my steps,
the glimmer of a distant light.

Looking back, with any luck,
I may recognize the gleam.

“Oh, yes”, I cry.
“I see you now!”

“Thank you for your many gifts
and all you’ve done for me!”
