Birds Behaving Badly

OK, so I am a bird watcher and bird lover as anyone who has read some of my previous posts will know,

but even I have to admit that sometimes birds behave badly.

How, you might ask, can a bird behave badly? Other than dropping some white sticky poo on your hair when you are sunbathing at the beach?

Here’s some examples of birds living in my neighborhood whom I feel really need to take lessons in courtesy and kindness.

Hummingbirds.

Oh, they are absolutely delightful to watch, these tiny birds, as close to fairy tale sprites as any earth creature can be. But have you ever watched hummingbirds at a feeder?

One hummingbird hovering around those fake plastic flowers is darling. With a large feeder, maybe two might peacefully imbibe. But should more than two hummingbirds decide to sip sugar water from the same feeder, look out! Fierce aerial combat is sure…
