Awakened By a Whisker

Impossible to ignore

Each morning I am awakened by a whisker.

Brushing against the tip of my nose,
flicking against my cheek, tickling my ear.

Sometimes I giggle. Sometimes I groan.

Whisker to skin contact.
All part of living with a cat.

Beats an alarm clock, any day.
