A wonderful, hearfelt piece. Yes, it is so hard to decide what to keep and what to give away. So many of us need to do that as our parents pass. But it also can feel good to give away things that are still good and usable that may be helpful to someone else. That is really a way of passing along to others some of the beauty of your mother. But your husband showed great wisdom and compassion when he suggested you put the sorting and deciding aside for a while.
